Christmas initiative
Every year Bai Ganyo organizes a Christmas initiative – we get together and make beautiful Christmas ornaments and candles, which we then sell at the university during the final weeks of the Advent. This is not only an opportunity for us to put our creativity into action, express ourselves, and learn to work as a team, but also a way to do something good at this magical time of the year. We donate all of the money gained to a charity cause. Why wait for the Christmas spirit when you can be the Christmas spirit?
Football team
Bai Ganyo is proud of its football team well. It was formed in 2004 along with the foundation of the organization. The team has won the AStA Champions League in 2004 and reached the semi-final of the tournament in 2016. Our boys have been participating in the Soccer-League of the university since its establishment in the same year. They play two times a week and receive a lot of support from their loyal fans (also members of Bai Ganyo). The team is always open for new reinforcements – just contact us!
Folklore Fabric
Folklore Fabrik is an initiative for spreading Balkan folk dances of the student organization ,,Bai Ganyo’’ in Mannheim. Created in the beginning of 2014, the dance group started as series of workshops and later became a regular dance course, led by the choreographer Miroslav Stanev.
We meet twice a week in Stadthaus N1, room 52/53. Every Wednesday (7 PM) and every Sunday (6 PM) we dance Bulgarian folk dances from all over the country. We are happy to welcome newcomers anytime – beginners and advanced dancers, kids, students and adults. We are also open to suggestions and would be delighted to try new dances.
You don’t need to sign up anywhere or bring special clothes, just a smile!
